For any of you that may not be sure of what the 2nd Chance is- We have been listening to our racers and in trying to give them what they have been asking for, we started a New Format on the Mega 10 Race this week. Instead of a 2 day weekend, we now have a 1 day- 2 race event and the turn out was really good. The first race is Top Eliminator. We are paying out more places than any we've ran before, but also when money rounds begin we start another race- A SECOND CHANCE............ $25 to enter and all racers in money rounds of T.E. get in 2nd chance FREE!!!!!! One winner- WINNER TAKE ALL for this race. Oh and did I mention that all races were guaranteed?
Listening to feedback at the track Saturday night, it seemed to be very well recieved.. But please let me know your opinion of it. Either here, or email. As always- our racers opinions matter......

This weekend we will be having our IHRA Points Race. Gates open @ 4:00. Spectator admission is $10.
Friday night will be Grudge Wars  gates open @ 6:00. Run 7-10:30  $10.

Saturday started out on a sad note, at the passing of Buck Todd. For anyone who may not know, Buck was a big name within drag racing. But, on a more personal note for us- He is the father of our track manager- Bucky Todd, and of well know Alcohol Funny Car driver- "Super Brat" Monty Todd who was scheduled to run here Saturday. 
Please keep the family in your prayers.

Although this was hard to deal with, we were able to step up to the plate at the track & we had a GREAT DAY Saturday- I hope that everyone who attended agrees.  We had a few mishaps through out the race, and a light shower, but nothing could stop us. Thanks to Ben Willis and Mike Young for helping out in the tower instead of running the race as they had planned. Ben did a really great job filling in for Bucky to help get us through the race.  Mr. Pennington- who built the racing system used by us and many others- also was on hand to help us out. Ben, Mike, Mr. Pennington, Ashley and myself were able to pull it off- (although not as good as Bucky and Judy would've I'm sure.)

We had games, moonwalk, dunking booth, live band- Stone Heart-, Chilton County Cruisers Antique Car Show, and a fly in by Life Saver helicopter.   If you missed it, you missed alot....

Effective July 11- test & tunes and grudge wars will be held on Friday nights instead of Sundays.

Gates open @ 6 and run until 10:30  $10 to watch or run.....

This is your time to get out and play around. If you can drive it, you can race it. Cars, trucks, motorcycles,scooters, golf carts, go carts and some people have even suggested lawn mowers.

Want to settle a grudge? Keep it safe, and off the streets. For $10 bucks- it's safe, accurate, fun and even legal. What more could you ask for?

Unfortunately the car count just wasn't what we wanted it to be today. But the one that were there, got in some good racing. Although a few had car trouble occassionally, for the most part everyone got to run a completed, no rain, great spirited race...........................

As part of the July 5th festivities- we are having raffle drawings.

We got rained out last night, as most of the tracks around us did. We are always disappointed when this happens, but especially last night because we had one of the best turn outs we've had in a while.  We had racers still coming through the gate all the way until Bucky finally had to call it. And racers were calling us every few minutes to see if were going to run or not. They were ready to come if we were able to run.

Everyone wanted to race.

It finally seemed to quit and the sky had cleared a little about 7:00, but we were watching the satellite online in the tower and knew there were several more bands coming in. That was when the decision was made that we would not get to run. It turned out to be a good call.  As we were leaving the track about 9:00 it started pouring again, and rained most of the night.

This race has been rescheduled for July 26.

I am so excited to about the way things are shaping up for our Independence Weekend Explosion on July 5. As I've announced earlier-

Our main attraction for the day will be Alcohol Funny Cars- you can't miss them. Monty Todd & John Sullivan- Need I say more?

But from there the list is gettting bigger and better daily.

We are going to have Chilton County Cruisers on site. These are some of the best looking antique vehicles you could hope to see.

We are having a Live Band - Stone Heart- from 8-12 . They play a mixture of Country and  Southern & Classic Rock.  A little something for everyone.

West Chilton Fire Department will have many informative demonstrations going on- including a blood pressure check station.

And we haven't forgotten the youngest (or youngest at heart) members of your pit crew.  THE PIT STOP is being set up to make sure they have a good time also. Games, Prizes, a Moon Walk, and a Dunking Booth.  Arm Bands or tickets will be available to keep them entertained throughout the day.

Adult volunteers will be allowed to be in the dunking booth, so bring a change of clothes. And think of who you would like to dunk. You can call them out on a challenge. But BEWARE. You may be the one called out to be dunked. Exspecially those of you who "don't play well with others".
(Personally, I'm wondering how much each of you would be willing to pay to dunk a certain track manager????)

The Concession Stand will have all it's usual great food- hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken finger- but we also have popcorn, boiled peanuts, pickles, candy, cold drinks and SNO CONES. Many flavors of ICE COLD SNO CONES..... and much more.

And the POSSIBILITY of a VERY SPECIAL ATTRACTION  coming from where you would least expect it..........

And of Course---- DRAG RACING------

We've got it. We will have all the drag racing you can handle.
